hi.... then what? You just smiled at an interesting stranger and he has walked over and introduced himself to you. You are very excited to get to know him but.... be careful. He may find you asking him questions about himself to be invasive. He may also find you taking about yourself to be boring. What is a girl to do?
May I suggest that you have an "adventure of the third," which I define as speaking about a third subject which is neutral, easy to discuss, and something you can speak about in a positive way. So if you are at a party, you could talk to him about how delicious the drinks are. If you are at a park, you could speak with him about how beautiful the trees look. Wherever you are, pick something in the environment and start speaking to him about it in a happy and friendly way. The ice will have been broken between the two of you and the adventure will have begun. Happy dating!

Lately many of you have been contacting me for "dating help 911" sessions and you should all know that I am so honored to be invited into your lives when dating is causing you angst and confusion.
I still have a perfect record of being able to offer dating help 911 sessions within 24 hours of request and I will always do my best to keep that high standard. It isn't just the end of the year, it is the end of the decade. If ever there was a time to check in with yourself and make sure you are on the best path for you, now is the time.
May I suggest that you take a break from all of the gift-hunting and party-hopping so that you can take some quiet time to answer these questions:
1. What were your biggest accomplishments in 2009?
2. What did you learn this past year?
3. How did you best express your passions this year?
4. What were the kindest things you did this year?
5. What have you been most grateful for in 2009?

As we will all celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow, I invite you to ask yourself...what are you thankful for?
Think about all of the people who have enriched your life. They can be family, friends or people who have inspired you. Think about the amazing places that you have been or intriguing places you want to visit. They can be exciting cities, relaxing beaches, or forests filled with clean air. Think about the animals that have given you joy. They can be dogs, cats, or animals you have admired from afar.
Think about all of
the experiences who have made you the person you are today. They can be past relationships, prior jobs, and former apartments. Give thanks for all of these things but don't stop there. Spend some time thinking about where else you can give thanks. Challenge yourself to make a list of 100 things you can be thankful for.
