To give you a feel for how a typical coaching relationship works, I have summarized an example.
Jennifer is an intelligent and fun-loving 32-year-old woman who has a solid career, great friends, and she takes very good care of herself. Jennifer came to coaching because she wants to be happily married and start a family soon but she is having problems meeting "the one."
When we began coaching, Jennifer was feeling very discouraged by the whole dating process. We first worked on sharpening her clarity about her life vision, and especially her relationship requirements, needs, and wants. We also worked on helping Jennifer recognize her values, passions, and priorities. We then developed a picture of her ideal life which included a profile of the type of man she is looking for so that she would never again waste her time with any man who wasn't right for her.
Together, we made a plan which included Jennifer choosing new activities where she could meet potential life partners that shared her values and passions. When she meets a man, Jennifer now chooses to spend time with only the ones that meet her requirements. She now knows not to waste her time with a man that has traits that aren't right for her, no matter how cute he is!
While all of this has been happening, Jennifer has not put the rest of her life on hold. She has been deepening her relationships with her friends, family, and colleagues. Jennifer is having the time of her life!
Jennifer finally feels comfortable saying, "no" to what she doesn't want because she is now confident that what she does want is right around the corner. I am still working with Jennifer and I am incredibly proud of all of her accomplishments. Go Jennifer Go!!!!!!
